★ variable (adj.) [変わりやすい,変化しやすい；移り気な；変えられる；可変的な；（数）変数の || (n) 変化するもの；（数）変数]

* vary (v): to be different; have qualities that are not the same as each other; to (cause to) become different; change
* varied (adj.):様々な；変化のある,多彩な
* variant (n):　変形,別形；；異形；異本
* 『東大英単』p.229 説明：一定していない,という意味で,類語に unstable, changeable などがある。・・・。variant は「異種」のことで,たとえば「・・・の現代版」は a modern variant of と言えるが,同じ意味は a modern equivalent of ... という言い方でも表せる。
