政治家には事実問題と議論を要する問題とを区別して話してもらいたい、と私はしばしば考えます。しかし、両者をきちんと区別しない政治家が少なくありません。特に、有権者をあおりたてて急成長している政党では、この傾向が顕著です。たとえば、最近、急に支持者を増やしている参政党の党首の神谷氏などは、仲間内では独裁者的な態度をとりますが、有権者に対しては柔らかな印象を装って話しかけます。有権者の多くは、そのソフトな印象がその人の本来の姿だと思ってしまう人が多いようです。しかし、そのようなイメージのもとに多数の国会議員が選出されると、国政に大きな影響を及ぼす可能性（危険）があります。

However, there are many politicians who fail to make this distinction. This tendency is especially pronounced in parties that grow rapidly by rousing voters. For example, the leader of the Sanseito party, Mr. Kamiya, who has recently gained supporters quickly, behaves in a dictatorial manner among his associates, yet presents a softer image when addressing the voters. Many voters seem to believe that this gentle impression reflects his true nature. However, if a large number of members of parliament are elected based on such an image, it could have a significant -- and potentially dangerous -- impact on national politics.
