・・・。ソ連は常に決してそのような行動はしないと言いながら、それらの物資（ミサイル兵器など）をキューバに送り込んでいました。・・・。それなのに、なぜあなたはそのソ連を批判しないでキューバ封鎖の立場をとった米国に反対するようになったか、私はその訳を知りたく存じます。
　私は現在、大学で先生の哲学を勉強していますが、あなたがあなたの立場で（on your part）そのような行動をする理由（根拠）がまったくわかりません。・・・。

　・・・。私は米国を批判しました。なぜなら、米国はそのような行動（注：海上封鎖）をとれば全面的な核戦争の口火を切らせる可能性があることを十分知っていながら、公海上でソ連船を沈めると言って威嚇したからです。
　トルコ､イタリア、英国、その他の、共産主義国の周辺で米軍基地を置いている多数の国々のなかのいかなる国における貯蔵武器（armoury 武器庫；武装）（のあり方）についてソ連が決定する権利を持っていないのと同様に、キューバにおける彫像武器についても米国が決定する権利は持っていません。

'... I would be interested in knowing why you came out against the United States of America in its stand in the Cuban blockade instead of criticizing the Soviet Union for sending those goods to Cube while all the time guaranteeing that they would never take such action. I am presently studying your philosophy in college now and can see no basis for this action on your part. ..'

Dear Mr Campbell,
... I criticised the United States because it threatened to sink Soviet ships on the high seas, knowing full well that such action would initiate general nuclear warfare.
The United States has no more right to determine the armoury in Cuba than the Soviet Union has in Turkey, Italy, Britain, or in any of the many other countries harbouring Amerian bases around the Cmmunist perimeter.
